Spread Out! Think Big!

Welcome to 2013, a year full of promises.

It’s the first day of the year and may I ask “what can you see yourself achieving this year?”Write down your goals and pursue it vigorously. While doing this, be sure that your goals and plans are not mean ones. It’s likely to be very risky for you to think and plan small this year. What if your best plans have the capacity to come true? Prepare yourself to engage your gears for good speed. Charles Schulz said “Life is a ten-speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use”.

Many new businesses are going to be born, new jobs are going to be created and many will move on to bigger and better jobs. For others, it will be a year to stabilize in career, study, health or ministry. Someone said “it is very dangerous to have small plans”. Big plans attract big people while small plans attract small people. Unfortunately small people always create big problems. I used to have a lawyer friend who stopped being a real estate agent for ‘face me-I face you’ properties some five years ago and when  I asked him the reason for his decision; he said those guys in those small rooms are too full of reasons why they can’t pay their monthly rent of N800.00. If it is not the electricity bill that they feel is not equitably shared among co-tenants, it will be an issue of someone who has not contributed to the cleaning of the premises. According to him, it was always hell trying to collect rent unlike his other clients in duplexes and high-rise buildings that will not hesitate to drop a rent cheque for two years in advance after a reminder phone call! Friends, it will be dangerous to move around small people this year.

The good book says “Clear lots of ground for your tents, make your tents large, spread out, think big, use plenty of rope and drive the tent pegs deep! In other words, make room for more in every area of your life’s endeavours. Pay special attention to providing solutions to everyday problems around you. Prepare to recover lost grounds and enjoy speed in accomplishing your life’s dreams. Decide to increase your capacity to handle big breaks. Learn new things. Attend more seminars. Make deliberate efforts to overcome your self-limiting habits. Say goodbye to the old YOU! Let the new YOU show up! Remove the old labels and give yourself new labels. Welcome the new YOU!

Dare to dream big in 2013. Don’t be afraid that you’ll be embarrassed. Take action. Do the right things. Once you put a limit on what you will do, you have put a limit on what you can do. Think ten times bigger than you have ever done in your entire life’s history. Choose to be excellent and you will prosper. This is the best time to live! Dare to be positive and optimist about future outlooks. Get ready for impact! Get set to take over! Take the word “can’t” out of your vocabulary. Believe that your plans are going to work out.

Believe in your potential. Believe in yourself. Believe in your mission. Belief! Belief! Belief! This is the only way you are going to be fueled with passion to work hard and work smart. Belief determines your expectations and expectations determine your actions while your actions will produce the result we would see by end of year.

Above all, trust the Supreme Being: God who is able to help make your dreams come to pass. He will not allow you to be embarrassed or come up short. Be sure that your plug is connected to His socket perpetually and then you’ll sing through 2013.

Happy New Year!

You will reach your zenith!
