Be a Leader
Managers and Leaders are totally different in character and business contribution. Managers have subordinates, leaders have followers. Managers dictate to others what needs to be done, leaders influence others to get things done by also doing. You can’t lead if you are not part of the team; right in the front and doing what you want others to do. If you say “don’t deliver late on assignments”, you should also be seen to be doing same. A manager solves ‘closed problem’: how do we get to ‘Z’ from ‘A’ as efficiently as possible? So, he knows just one view point; how to get to ‘Z’ and act. A leader will define point ‘Z’ and connect as well as convince others to see ‘Z’ the same way he does. That’s an ‘open problem’. Leaders share perspectives from multiple windows.
